The Chiropractic profession was founded in 1895 by a man named D.D. Palmer. Since that time, chiropractic care has become the largest and fastest growing natural healthcare profession in the world. Chiropractic is based on 4 major principles:
1.) Physical, chemical, or emotional stessors that are too prolonged or too intense for the body to adapt too, will create stress in the body.
2.) This stress will create tension and imbalances in the core muscles of the body, causing the bones of the spine to shift and lock out of their normal alignment, a term referred to as vertebral subluxation.
3.) These vertebral subluxations will cause restrictions in the spinal joint mobility and disturb the two way flow of nerve impulses that travel from the brain to the muscles, organs, and glands of the body.
4.) When the flow of nerve impulses are disturbed, the muscles, organs, and glands of the body lose their ability to function and heal correctly. This may lead to a variety of symptoms and health related problems.
The main objective of chiropractic care is to help people of all ages restore and maintain their health, through the detection and correction of vertebral subluxations. The main methods of chiropractic care include chiropractic examinations to detect vertebral subluxations and chiropractic adjustments to correct vertebral subluxations.
